Leaving Alaska

It's time to get married! In less than three weeks, I'll be marrying the love of my life. I am so excited and so blessed. I can't wait! But that also means bringing one chapter of life to a close. And that's where we are today.

I came to Alaska back in July after two extended visits. It just sang to me. And I loved this place. I loved skiing in the winter (apart from the shoulder injuries). I loved going to Jack Sprat (I just reviewed it). I have loved everything here - but something has been missing.

But now I'm leaving Alaska for a brief season and I'll be coming back a changed and different fellow. I'll be coming back a husband! How strange! I will be closing the door and turning the page on my single life and stepping into the great unknown of marriage. I am excited. I am nervous.

Not nervous that I've made the wrong decision to marry my darling Jaclyn. No no no. She is my best friend (sorry Justin - you know about my rule of threes). I am nervous about the newness of what lies ahead! Oh that I may enjoy life with her! I am excited. But just like getting on a super fun roller coaster or going down a sweet mountain, it can be a little scary - and that is what makes it so exciting!

Never boring.
