6 Best Comic Book Movies

Comic book movies are all the rage these days. Whether its your Iron Man or your Spider-Man (although probably not your Spider-Man despite having five movies in the past fifteen years - something no other hero outside the X-Men can claim), everyone seems to love these movies. And some are better than others. So we compiled a list of the 7 Best Comic Book Movies (of the 2000s and 2010s).

6. Spider-Man 2.1
The extended edition of the second Raimi directed Spider-Man film is marginally better than the theatrical version. With a few extended scenes, it helps to explain a few things not really explained in the original. I also typically prefer to watch the director's vision of a film. Spidey goes head to head with Doc Ock this time, leaving some of the ridiculous camp that plagued the first film. I HATED the Green Goblin in the first movie (although Willem Dafoe was great). This movie is so much better and perhaps the best Spider-Man movie of all time if many critics are to be believed. In truth, however, I enjoyed The Amazing Spider-Man 2: The Rise of Electro more, but since I've only seen it once, I didn't feel it was fair to add it here.

5. Superman Returns
I don't care what anyone says, I love this film. Is Superman a bit creepy? Yes. Is Superman underpowered? NO! He flies at an estimated 2,000mph to save the airplane in one of the most spectacular action sequences in the history of comic book movies.
The whole story is tight and connected. I love it. I don't need to say much more. If you hate this movie, you'll disagree with me. If you love it, you'll know what I mean. I love this movie.

4. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
I wasn't a fan of the first Captain America movie (or the second or the third ...) but I really enjoyed the Winter Soldier. This movie, with it's noir feel certainly broke the Marvel mold and stands out as Marvel Studios' best film to date.
I have not been impressed by any of the other Marvel movies (except Iron Man when it FIRST came out - doesn't hold up in my opinion), but this one isn't bad.
3. Man of Steel
Superman was reviled for years for never throwing a punch. So he threw a bazillion of them in this film. Man of Steel is quite literally the birth of Superman. Go do a YouTube search for "A Thesis on Man of Steel" to see a few reasons that this is a freaking masterpiece!
Man of Steel is amazing. I love it. From the villain to the set pieces it's awesome. Man of Steel is the best Dragon Ball Z movie of all time.

2. The Incredibles
Brad Bird proves that a good Fantastic Four movie can be made with the Incredibles. Twentieth Century Fox is without excuse. They are the worst. Dragonball Evolution, X-Men, Howard the Duck...

Sorry. I think I was getting off topic. This, the only animated film on this list, is the quintessential team up film. I just hope Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice lives up to this!

1. The Dark Knight Trilogy
Was there any doubt? Scarecrow, Ra's Al Ghul, League of Shadows, Joe Chill, Victor Zsasz, Two-Face, The Joker, Catwoman, Bane, Talia Al Ghul, Batman, Alfred Pennyworth, Gordon!!! It's just pure awesome.
I have a few complaints. I would like to have seen a little more detective work. The villains can be hokey. But overall, freaking great.
