3 Reasons to Praise God Today

A lot of my lists are satirical. And it's no wonder. Most of my readers just want funny stuff. And you'll notice also that I have been doing more lists lately. That's because studies have shown that people gravitate toward list based posts.

Here's the thing. I like to think more seriously most of the time. And that brings my attention to the Creator. So here are 3 reasons to praise God today.

3. We Are Enjoying an All Time Record for Peace in the World.
It may not seem like it, but go check your history books. We have never in the history of recorded erm... history had such a widespread and long lasting peace.

The reason we don't realize it is simple - the media. We are experiencing an all time high in reporting and an all time low in warring. But the media needs to increase viewership. So they report on sensationalized stories of war and whatnot to get you all stirred up.

But the fact is simple. Most of us don't worry about getting burned to death by angry Mongols or being raped and killed by invading whiteys from the old world.

That's outstanding! And we have only God to thank. Left to our own devices, we'd probably start another Holocaust or wipe out the Indians again or bring back the Backstreet Boys again.

2. The Bible.
The Word of God is not just a book about God. It's an incredible piece of literature. With poetry and prose unparalleled in the world, it stands as arguably the singlemost impressive piece of written work the world over.

It's got so many genres. There are epic battles, damsels in distress, dragons, unicorns, angels, super heroes ... The list goes on an on!

It's so cool! Go jump in.

1. Jesus.
Obviously I can't make a list about reasons God is worthy of praise without listing His Son. Jesus is not only the most famous person to have ever lived. He is not only the greatest teacher of all time. He is literally God incarnate.

And He died to take away our sins. But that is only part of the story. He also died to give us righteousness and eternal life. He took what we had, the thing that was dragging us down, and gave us what He has. Now we can know Him. Now we can love Him.

Praise God!
