The Countdown Begins

We are three months away from our wedding and things are going well so far. I just came over to her apartment to pick her up for breakfast and she stepped out for a minute to do something, leaving her pesky alarm sounding while I wait. I hate it.

Oh well. The Bible says those who endure to the end shall be saved (I am most certainly using that out of its proper context).

And now she's back and the alarm is off and I am saved! Woot!

Anyhow, we've been watching Smallville. For those of you who somehow don't know, Smallville was an American Sci-Fi/Fantasy drama about a young Clark Kent as he journeys toward his ultimate destiny of becoming Superman.

Now this post isn't about Smalliville or Superman or even comics at all. It's about my fiancée and me and our journey toward marriage, but there is a fun little parallel and I thought I would share it.

For ten years, the nation watched as Clark Kent discovered and fulfilled his destiny. Things got rough, dangerous and messy and sometimes it was scary. The wait felt like forever, but eventually, he started saving the day in Metropolis and began taking up the mantle of both the world's greatest super hero and the dorky, mild mannered reporter. So what does this have to do with Jaclyn and me?

Well, I suppose the build up to the wedding has been scary at times and I sometimes feel as if I'm juggling a dual persona. Am I the brave, heroic knight or the dorky bookworm that can debate all night? Am I both?

Whatever I am, I know I love her. And this post was just to let the world know again that she is my best friend and my companion and I love her.

She is beautiful. Three months to go!
